Maxine Garrett, 80, Yukon, Okla., died Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla., after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Meade to Harvey and Maggie Elledge. She attended Meade schools.

She married Carl C. Garrett, Ponca City, Okla., on Sept. 11, 1945 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Rectory in Fowler.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Lowe, Chanute, Deborah Lindley, Yukon, Okla., and Beverly Garrett, Rome, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Elks Club, 4711 N. Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Okla. Friends are asked to bring their favorite memories of Mrs. Garrett to be shared.
