Rex Allen Vandegrift, 45, Gypsum, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, near Tampa.
He was born March 30, 1963, at Forbes Air Base in Topeka to Francis Jr. and Edna Marie Mead Vandegrift.
He was employed as a carpenter’s helper.
He married Teresa Moore in Strong City. They divorced.
Survivors include two sons, William K. Vandegrift, Sedgwick, and Evan A. Vandegrift, Newton; a stepson, Josh Moore, El Dorado; three grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and two brothers, Jerry Mead, Chanute, and Richard Vandegrift, Strong City.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Norman Mead.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Strong City Cemetery under the direction of Croy Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls.
