Richard C. King, 50, Chanute, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1957, in Shellyville, Ind., to Bill and Dorothy King.
He was an employee of Quest Cherokee Oilfield Service.
Survivors include his companion, Sharon King, of the home; three daughters, Audra King, Chanute, Erin Hudson, Lawrence, and Andrea King, Chanute; three grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy King, Kingston Heights, Ind.; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Dale and Linda King, Wamego, Dave and Loretta King, Erie, Terry and Cindy King, Stark, Tim and Becky Morris, El Dorado, and Matthew King, Stark; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Kay and Ronnie Shultz, Kingsford Heights, Ind., Tracy Richards, Chanute, Angie and Cleo Harris, Chanute, and Billie Jo and Larry Reddick, Stark; an aunt, Pauline Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Bill Sr. and Edith King; and two brothers, Bill Jr. and Jerry King.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Picnic will be noon Saturday at Highland Park for friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held at the Highland Park fountain at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.
Contributions to the American Cancer Society may be left with the funeral home.
