Leroy H. Lacen, 73, Thayer, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 13, 1935, in Chanute to Edgar F. and Maxine Flickinger Lacen. He graduated from Chanute Senior High School in 1953.
He married Goldie D. Babcock on Aug. 7, 1955. She died on Dec. 31, 2005.
He was employed as a truck driver, mechanic and welder.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Kraige McElroy, Wichita; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar and Jaime Lacen, Urbana, and Ronald and Lyn Lacen, Wichita; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Lacen; and a sister, Karen Meigs.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Lois Briley.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.
He will lie in state from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions to Hospice Care of Kansas may be left with the funeral home.
