Dan L. Willson, 85, St. Paul, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 25, 1923, at Lincoln Township in Labette County to Foster Sare and Eva Lavon Crosser Willson. He graduated from St. Paul Public High School in 1941 and later Kansas State Teacher’s College.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired in 1985 as Dean Emeritus (Dean of sciences and mathematics and Dean of graduate studies) and professor of biology from Winona State University of Minnesota.

He is survived by three nephews and seven nieces.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Joe and Ray Willson; and a sister, Vada Willson Smith.

At Willson’s request, no funeral will be scheduled. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Carson-Wall Funeral Home.

Contributions to the St. Paul Schools, for the St. Paul Public School District No.14 Alumni Teacher Scholarship Fund or to the Prairie Mission Retirement Village Activity Fund may be mailed to the funeral home, 403 Main, St. Paul, KS 66771.
