Juanita “Jenny” Sanchez, 76, Humboldt, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at her home.

Jenny was born on Jan. 12, 1932 in Chanute, the daughter of Ignacio and Refugio Alonzo Marquez.

She was a homemaker.

Jenny was active in the Altar Society and numerous church activities. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was united in marriage to Abel D. Sanchez in January 1951 in Humboldt. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2007.

Jenny is survived by three sons, David Sanchez and wife, Roberta, of Olathe, Alexander Sanchez and his wife, Loretta, Humboldt, Anthony “Tony” Sanchez and wife, Darla, Humboldt; three daughters, Rachel Mueller, Patricia Bosler and husband, Jeff, and Marsha Gean and husband, Allen, all of Humboldt; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Salvador Marquez, Frontenac, and Joe Marquez, Houston, Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Sanchez; a son-in-law John Mueller; a brother, Manuel Marquez and a sister, Rose Morales.

Mass of Christian burial will 10 a.m. ednesday, Nov. 5 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and may be left with the funeral home.

Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
