Reuben Schultz, 86, Fredonia, longtime resident of rural Neodesha, Kansas, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Neodesha. He was born April 26, 1923 in Coy, Okla., the son of Peter and Lena Nightingale Schultz. He was a farmer all of his life.
On Dec. 19, 1943 in Halstead, he married Rosalee Mae Unruh. She preceded him in death June 27, 2005.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ-Mennonite Church, rural Fredonia.
Reuben’s survivors include four sons, Chester Schultz, Neodesha, Lennis Schultz, Fredonia, Mark Schultz, Fredonia, Mervin Schultz, Versailles, Mo.; three daughters, Elaine Schultz, Fredonia, Carolyn Koehn, Galva, Juanita Koehn, Elk City; three sisters, Eva Schultz, Fredonia, Martha Nichols, Okahona, Miss., Delores Jantz, El Campo, Texas; a brother, Tobie Schultz, Montezuma; 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held 2 p.m. today, Sept. 8, at Church of God In Christ-Mennonite, south of Fredonia. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Cemetery. A memorial has been established i with the Church of God in Christ-Mennonite and may be sent to Timmons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
