Alma Jean Kihm, 68, Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

She was born Dece. 19, 1940, in Huntsville, Mo., to Johnny and Hazel Nelson Bryant.

Alma enjoyed reading and was an avid gardener. She loved and appreciated the great outdoors and all of God’s creatures. Alma was adventurous and always enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Loving survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Michael and Peggy Ewing Casper and John and Rhonda Ewing Edmondson, all of Chanute; two stepsons, Albert Arthur “Buddy” Kihm, Boulder, Colo., and Theodore Edwin “Ted” Kihm and his wife Tracy, Lawrence; a stepdaughter and her husband, Bill and Nancy Kihm Jackson, Robinson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl and Pam Bryant, Independence, Mo., and Teddy Gaines, Longmont, Colo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Larry and Shirley Bryant Hoffman, Moberly, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Betty Bryant, Edwards, Mo.; a grandson and his wife, Raymond and Joyce Austin, Chanute; a great-grandson, Gage Austin, Chanute; and seven step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Arthur Kihm; her first husband, James M. Ewing; and a brother, John M. Bryant.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are by Caruth Village Funeral Home. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
