Oscar Leon “Bub” Lauber, 79, Yates Center, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at Yates Center Health Care.

Bub was born April 11, 1930 on his grandparents farm in Rural Woodson County, the son of Oscar H. and Dessie Gillespie Lauber. He lived all his life in Woodson County on his grandparents farm except for the time he served in the Army. He was a lifelong cattleman and farmer raising Hereford cattle.

On May 26, 1956 he was united in marriage to Lila Weston in Yates Center.

He was a member of the First Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lila, of the home; two sons, David Lauber, Gridley, Jeff Lauber, Yates Center; two grandchildren; a brother, Billie Lauber, Yates Center.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center, with interment to follow in Yates Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church or Friends for Life and sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
