Ida Mae Ball, 90, Chanute, died Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Heritage Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Chanute to Loran Abram and Julia Schommer Ball. She attended Chanute Schools. She lived in Chanute until age 17 when she moved to California. She moved to Florida in 1990 and returned to Chanute in 1994.

She worked as a housekeeper.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret Huffman, Bradenton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Ball.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Contributions to Cherry Street Youth Center may be left with the funeral home.
