Lloyd E. Rensing, 90, Chanute, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Lloyd was born in rural Chanute on Nov. 17, 1918, the son of Julius Edward and Clara Lorene Friederich Rensing. He graduated from Rollin School in Neosho County. .

He was united in marriage to Nellie Pauline Dietrich on April 17, 1941 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2005.

Lloyd was a farmer all of his life.

He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Steinman, Humboldt, Donna Kellerman, Shawnee Mission, and Leta Elliott, Chanute; one son, Larry Rensing, Chanute; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Memorials in his name may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
