Maudena F. Chard, 81, Humboldt, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at the Allen County Hospital in Iola. She was born on Sept. 6, 1928 in Moran, the daughter of Charles and Mary Annie Alumbaugh Fletcher.

On Sept. 21, 1945 Maudena was united in marriage to Charles Richard Chard in Iola. Maudena worked as a manager in the dry cleaning business. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Iola.

Maudena is survived by her husband, Charles; one daughter, Deborah Gatling, Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Friday, Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Iola. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. Family suggests contributions to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and may be left with the funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 247, 420 S. 20th St., Fredonia.
