Glenn Kepley, 88, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in Penrose, Calif.

He was born July 14, 1921, in Chanute and was a graduate of Chanute High School and Chanute Technical College.

He was a life-long member of and active in various churches including Baptist and non-denominational churches.

He was a pilot during World War II, flying with Western Airlines and stationed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in Canada.

He married Lorene Nelson in Salt Lake City. They relocated and lived in California for many years. They were married for more than 50 years before she preceded him in death.

When he stopped flying he became a carpenter.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenene Harris, Dallas, Texas; sons James Kepley, Penrose, Colo., and Donald Kepley, Paradise, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Kepley home. A memorial service will be held in Chanute at a later date.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Kepley.
