Lola Mae Edwards, 83, Chanute, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Chanute Health Care Center.

She was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Thayer to Orval Turner Woolery and Blanche Lucille Carson Woolery. She grew up in Thayer, graduating from Thayer High School.

She married Fay Orley Edwards on Oct. 15, 1947, in Chanute. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She was a homemaker.

SHe was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, the Barathea Class of Otterbein United Methodist Church, a member of the Hereford Association, was a Girl Scout leader, was a member of the Neosho Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at nursing homes.

She was proud to be a farmgirl and had a love for the outdoors and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stu Butcher, Chanute; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and JoAnne Edwards, also of Chanute; a granddaughter, Jana Butcher, Lawrence; a stepgrandson, Adam Johnson, Reno, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Herschel Woolery.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today at the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions to the Otterbein United Methodist Church may be left with the funeral home.
