Darrell James Rand, 54, Chanute, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at his home.
Darrell was born in Mountain Home, Ark., on Dec. 17, 1955, the son of James Jefferson and Thelma Lee Richards Rand.
He worked as a security guard at Wolf Creek Power Plant.
Darrell is survived by an uncle, Leroy Rand of Ashland, Mo., and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Humane Society and may be left with the funeral home.
Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
