Leroy J. Roedel passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Yates Center Health Care in Yates Center.
He was born December 18, 1934 in southeast Kansas.
Leroy served in the United States Army from October 1954 to September 1956 and spent some of that time in England.
He spent most of his life working as a mechanic in the Chanute area. Later he moved to California, Arizona, and later returned to live the rest of his life in Kansas near some of his family members.
Leroy married and has two sons, David Roedel and Allen Roedel, living in England. He later remarried and has a son in California. He is also survived by three brothers, Richard Roedel, Rollin Roedel, Lanny Roedel, and one sister Debbie Roedel Hodge.
Leroy will be laid to rest in the Fort Scott National Cemetery Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
