Ellen Eleise Knock, 88, Chanute, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Chanute to Daniel E. and Laura L. Hodgden Bower. She graduated from Chanute High School and Chanute Junior College.

She married William C. Knock on Oct. 7, 1966. He died on July 13, 1998.

She worked as a manager of Independence Dry Cleaners.

Survivors include her children, Penny Williams Akridge, Tony Williams, William Henry Knock, Robert Knock, Rosalind Knock-McCoy and Pamela Knock; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Bower.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Huffman-Hand; two grandchildren, Tony Stowell and Chad Hand; and brothers and sisters Golda Bower, Arletta Hansen, Daniel Bower Jr., Emmett Bower, Nellie Brower and Hugh Bower.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Youth Center, P.O. Box 414, Chanute, KS 66720, and may be left with the funeral home.
