Willa Marie Hardy, 96, Fredonia, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Golden Living Center.

She was born Oct. 16, 1913, in rural Braymer, Mo., to Claude and Ollie Myrtle Cox Wightman.

On May 3, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo., she married Howard Lanning Hardy. He died April 19, 2004.

She was a homemaker, artist and published author and a member of the New Albany United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Winifred Wightman, Kansas City, Mo., Buford Wightman, Norborne, Mo., and Robert Wightman, Olympia, Wash.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Verne Wightman; and two sisters, Lenora North and Anna Light.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia.

Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia or New Albany United Methodist Church.
