Harold L. Jacobs, 88, Yates Center, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Yates Center Health Care Center.
He was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Kingman County to Henry and Margaret Hilger Jacobs.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Lucille Roth on Nov. 19, 1947, in Wichita. She survives.
He and his wife farmed until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Yates Center.
Other survivors include six sons, Gerald and Jerome Jacobs, Iola, Ron and Donald Jacobs, Yates Center, Martin Jacobs, Wichita, and Leo Jacobs, Park City; three daughters, Rita Hoag, Bonner Springs, Kathy Koelsch, Emporia, and Janet Fullerton, Yates Center; three brothers, Oscar and Virgil Jacobs, Kingman, and Sylvester, Wichita; five sisters, Rosann Depenbusch and Helen Mertens, both of Kingman, Loretta Jacobs, Oshkosh, Wis., Jeanette Traffas, Portland, Ore., and Lucy Albers, Nashville; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Yates Cemetery. Interment will follow at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.
A Rosary service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
