Vera M. Wilson, 82, Chanute, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Wichita.

She was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Garnett to Edward Clarence and Florence Ann Lewis Hiner. She was a high school graduate.

She married Raymond Dale Wilson on Jan. 12, 1947, in Chanute. He died on October 16, 1993.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Survivors includetwo sons, Gary and Dennis Wilson, both of Chanute; a daughter, Diane Wilson Knapp, Chanute; four grandchildren, Summer Wilson, Mountain House, Calif., Casey Godinez and Mark Knapp, both of Lawrence, and Kelsey Wilson, Arma; two great-grandchildren, Brock and Isabella Godinez, Lawrence; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Twila Hiner, East Brady, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Florence Hiner; her husband, Raymond; two brothers, Ralph and Lewis Hiner; and two sisters, Effie Gwin and Dorothy Wilson.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Contributions to the Hope Lodge in Kansas City, Mo., may be left with the funeral home.
