James Fredrick “Jim” Evans, 48, Iola, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Sept. 11, 1961, at Independence to Solomon A. and Barbara E. George Evans. He attended Iola schools. He traveled working construction.

Survivors include three daughters, Tabitha Coykendall, Rachel Harrington and Heidi Coykendall, all of Humboldt; his parents, Solomon and Leinetta Evans, Yates Center; a brother, Jon Evans, Moran; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Evans.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Yates Center United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Moran Cemetery under the direction of Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola.
