Mary Josephine Sheerer, 77, San Benito, Texas, formerly of Humboldt, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Alta Vista Nursing Home in Brownsville, Texas.

She married Henry “Hank” Sheerer. He preceded her in death.

Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church of San Benito and a resident of San Benito since 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Treva Vinson, San Benito, Texas; a son, Delbert Sheerer, Chanute; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Jeanette Kittlesved, Lois Berscheid, Delpha Dietrich and Linda Carl.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
