Kathryn M Gray, 89, Galion, Ohio, formerly of Chanute, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Mt. Carmel, St. Ann’s, Westerville, following an illness.

She was born Aug. 4, 1920, in El Dorado to William and Dalpha Doris Meek Beckford.

She married Warren L. Gray on Dec. 14, 1941. He died on March 26, 1996.

She has resided in Galion since the late 1950’s.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Galion. She was a homemaker who enjoyed time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of a bridge club in Galion.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Stratton, Centerville, Ohio; a son-in-law, Tom Martin and his wife Sharon, Granville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Wendi Higgins and her husband Jon, Centerburg, Ohio, Traci Hayes and her husband Bill, Johnstown, Ohio, David Geiger and his wife Cyndi, Johnstown, Ohio, and Mike Stratton and his wife Betty, Mt. Gilead, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren. She was eagerly awaiting her first great-great-grandchild in June 2010. She is also survived by a sister, Wilma Kipers, Tacoma, Wash., and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Martin, on April 15, 1996.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday a t Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Trigg officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion, Ohio, under the direction of Schneider Funeral Home, Galion.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
