Dale E. Becannon, 81, rural Buffalo, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the Westview Manor in Derby.

He was born March 23, 1928, west of Buffalo to Rafe O. and Lois Beulah Childs Becannon. He was a 1946 graduate of Buffalo High School.

For more than 60 years, he was a farmer and rancher in the Buffalo area. Since the age of 17, Dale served as a fire fighter with the Buffalo Rural Fire Department.

Survivors include a brother, Donald Becannon, Humboldt; and a sister, Lola Ruth Evans, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Markle.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia.
