Helen Jean Skaggs, 74, Humboldt, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute.

She was born July 20, 1935, in Fayette County, W.V., to William Raymond and Dosha Adeline Idell King.

She married Ralph Eugene Skaggs on May 20, 1994, in Rainell, W.V. He died on April 14, 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Perez, Humboldt, and Susan Boling, LeRoy; two sons, Kenneth Skaggs, Humboldt, and Ralph E. Skaggs, Neosho Falls; 11 grandchildren, Casey, Lacey and Tacey Womelsdorf, Dakotah Van Fleet, Madison and Joey Skaggs, Kaiden Boling, Desiree and Rachel Skaggs, Noah Thornbrough and Chantel Verron; a great-grandchild, Kaidence Womelsdorf; and seven cousins Betty, Jim, Mary, Mike, Wanda, Bob and Charles Cole, all of West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Everett.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
