Lena A. “Betty” Fulps, 87, Chanute, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Betty was born on June 20, 1922 in Uniontown, the daughter of Glen and Itha McHenry Moore. She attended Chanute public schools.

She was united in marriage to Harold Fulps on May 28, 1940. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by two sons, Eddie Fulps and his wife, Carol, and Steven Fulps, all of Chanute; a daughter, Judy Shores and her husband, Chick, Chanute; grandchildren, Susie and Randy Ellis of Chanute, Sally Hall of Chanute, Keith and Kala Shores of Tacoma, Wash., and Kelly Rutledge of Humboldt; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Addie Moore; her parents; her husband Harold Fulps; two sisters, Joan Hill and Carol Dexter; and a brother, Allyn Mann.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 2 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute with the Rev. R.A. Pefley officiating.

Memorials in her name may be made to Cherry Street Youth Center and may be left with the funeral home.

Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
