Clifford L. Heisler, 82, Humboldt, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1928, in Pawnee, Okla., to Henry John and Minnie Elizabeth Myers Heisler. He grew up at Pawnee until the family moved to a farm west of Elsmore in 1944.
On April 10, 1951, he married Irene Martin at Perry, Okla. They made their home west of Chanute for a few years before moving to a farm northwest of Elsmore. In 2001, they moved to Humboldt. She survives.
Serving the Lord and his love for his family and friends was what brought him joy.
Other survivors include four children and their spouses, Shirley and Jeff Peck, Forest City, Iowa, Max and Beverly Heisler, Zenda, Beth and Rick Queen, Wichita, and Ken and Laura Heisler, Humboldt; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Eric Sundquist, Independence; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kohlie Crawford; two brothers, Donald and Harold Heisler; a sister, Dorotha Turner; and a nephew, Darrell Turner.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Iola Recreation Community Building at Riverside Park in Iola. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt under the direction of Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions to Allen County Hospice may be made in care of the funeral home.
