Georgia Mae White, 89, Chanute, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Georgia was born on August 14, 1920, in Neodesha, the daughter of George and Maude McGregor McCann. She attended schools in Neodesha and Chanute.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Leon White. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a homemaker.
Georgia was a member of the Baptist Faith, a member of the Democratic Party, and loved to play bingo.
She is survived by a son, Lloyd White, Chanute; a daughter, Sharon Morris and her husband, Paul, Chanute; grandchildren, Laura and Brad Bennett, Andover, Doug and Lydia Morris, Buffalo, Kelsey Harding, Emporia, and Kalene Newton, Thayer: great-grandchildren, Kemper Morris, Pittsburg, Tabitha Ellis, Pittsburg, and Kelsie Bennett, Andover; and three brothers, George McCann, Jr,. of Sand Springs, Okla., Bobby McCann, Claremore, Okla., and Billy McCann, Elsmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, a brother, Ralph McCann, a sister, Isla Patterson, and a baby sister.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today, April 6, at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel. Burial will follow at High Prairie Cemetery, rural Altoona.
Memorials in her name may be made to Cherry Street Youth Center and may be left with the funeral home.
