Krista Carie Bruner Grogg, 35, Yates Center, died Monday, April 5, 2010, from injuries she received in an automobile accident north of Yates Center.
She was born Nov. 10, 1974, in Iola to Michael L. and Linda Lea Chriestenson Bruner. She grew up at Neosho Falls and graduated from Yates Center High School in 1993.
In 1996 she earned her nursing degree from the Mary Grimes School of Nursing at Neosho County Community College and has worked as a registered nurse and as director of nursing at a number of local hospitals and nursing homes.
On March 6, 1999, Krista married Scott W. Grogg. He survives. Her children were her life.
She was a member of the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three children, Skyler Claibourn, age 16, Richard Dale Grogg, age 10, and Emma Lea Grogg, age 5, all of the home; her father and stepmother, Mike and Sharon Bruner, Neosho Falls; a brother, Jay Bruner, Neosho Falls; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rebecca and Jamie Spencer, rural Iola, Angela and Tad Whitney, rural Piqua, and Robin Tinsley, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepsister and her husband, Tanya and Larry Vail, Olathe; Skyler’s father, Jason Claibourn, Coyville; her grandparents, Juanita Chriestenson and Richard Bruner, both of Neosho Falls; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Bruner, and grandparents, Charley Chriestenson and Violet Bruner.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery, Neosho Falls, under the direction of Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
