Helen Katherine Ross, 95, Overland Park, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Trinity Nursing Center, Merriam.

She was born July 19, 1914, in Emmons, W.V., to Frank H. and Georgia Barker Barker.

She married Stanton Ross on Nov. 26, 1932, in West Virginia. He preceded her in death.

She was a nurses’ aide from 1952-1962 at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She was always an active member of her church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Cora Ann Reding, Lawrence, Lucille Marie Stinson, Kingston Spring, Tenn., Charles “Buddy” Ross, Overland Park, Naomi “Ruth” Ross, Louisburg, and Ruby Ilene Adams, Kingsville, Mo.; a brother, Frank H. Barker, Racine, W.V.; 21 grandchildren, more than 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Lee Mendenhall; and siblings James, Russell, Evelyn, Kelly, Ray, Goldie, Nell and Lucille.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Overland Park Church of God (Holiness), 6801 W 74th Street, Overland Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bruce Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. Burial will follow on Thursday in Ashford, W.V.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill.
