Raymond D. Bumgarner, 72, rural Fredonia, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at his home.

He was born July 18, 1937, in Marshfield, Mo., to Clifford and Helen Hill Bumgarner. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1956.

For 35 years he was the maintenance superintendent at Archer Daniels Midland Corporation in Fredonia, retiring in 1999.

On Aug. 30, 1957, at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, he married Viona Payne. She survives.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia.

Other survivors include three daughters, Toni Relph, Altoona, Kathy Houchin, Fredonia, and Lisa Connor, Newton; two brothers, Jack Bumgarner, Clovis, N.M., and Bob Bumgarner, Wichita; two sisters, Marjorie Timmons, Fredonia, and Sheryl James, Joplin, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Timmons Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Timmons Funeral Home.
