Ethel Emaline Watson, 96, Neodesha, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at her daughter’s home.
She was born April 8, 1912, in Lakin to Charles H. and Hattie L. Rowe Redington. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1930.
She married Kenneth H. Watson on Aug. 4, 1931, in Howard. He died in 1995.
She was employed as a nursing assistant with Wilson County Hospital until her retirement in 1975.
Survivors include six daughters, Charlene Schneider, Mocksville, N.C., Kay Ferguson, Tucson, Ariz., Leah Frye, Wichita, Linda Burris, Stilwell, Judy Bennett, Neodesha, and Debbie Page, Wichita; a brother, Keith Redington, Guntersville, Ala.; two sisters, Betty Jean Powell, Las Vegas, Nev., and Shirley Michaels, Roanoke, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Hal, Roy, Ernest and Bill; and two sisters, Mary and Sandy.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Ross Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, Neodesha
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
