Mary Lou “Sis” Crager, 79, St. Paul, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Labette Health, Parsons.
She was born Sept. 2, 1928, in St. Paul to George and Adelia Brazil McAtee. She grew up and attended schools there graduating from St. Francis High School.
She and Joseph Crager were married Jan. 5, 1952, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1984.
Following marriage, they moved to Wichita where they lived until 1963 at which time they returned to St. Paul. She worked at Beachner Construction for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed traveling, quilting, playing cards and was an avid sports fan. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, its Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Crager, Tulsa, Okla., Jerry Crager, St. Paul; five daughters, Marilyn McClure, Mulberry, Judy Mauer, Topeka, Patty Beachner, St. Paul, Cathy McMillan, Wichita, Karen Wiseman, Belle Plaine; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard McAtee, St. Paul, and Gene McAtee, Gardner; and a sister, Margie Crager, St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Don, Harold, Paul, Jim and George W. McAtee; and a sister, Katie Smith.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Parsons. The parish rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at the Church.
The family will receive friends following the rosary. The Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Church.
