Lewis McDonald Harp, 84, Independence, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Independence.
He was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Cedar Vale to Ambrose C. and Lula B Jerome Harp.
He married Frances J. Patterson on June 2, 1951. She survives.
He served in the Army Medical Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was most recently employed as a metal fabricator for Dixon Manufacturing.
He was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a daughter, Tamela J. Harp, Independence; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Potts Chapel, Independence.
Contributions to Harry Hynes Hospice or Grace Memorial United Methodist Church may be made in care of the funeral home.
