Dorothy A. Habegger, 89, Wheaton, Ill., died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wheaton.

She was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Chanute to Erick and Hattie Johnson Axcell.

She graduated from Kansas State University in 1941.

On Feb. 26, 1944, she married Dr. James Habegger. He preceded her in death in 1988.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wheaton.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Weigel, St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Jon Habegger, Batavia, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Weigel, Affton, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jay, in 1976; a brother, Walter, in 1989; and a sister, Edith, in 1996.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Anderson Auditorium at Wyndemere Retirement Center, 200 Wyndemere Circle, Wheaton, under the direction of Yurs Funeral Home.
