Loiese Cantrell, 84, died Wednesday May 5, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Amarillo, Texas.

Loiese was born July 5, 1925 to Roy Meade and Laura Samantha Weaver Hopkins in Anthony at Anthony Hospital.

Growing up she attended Grasser School outside of Waldron and Spring High school, a small country school, south of Anthony.

Carlos Cantrell and Loiese were married July 1, 1944. They lived for a time in Elsmore, where they continued running their dairy and farming, retiring in 1984 and moving to Independence.

She is the survived by her husband, Carlos, Anthony; three children, Diana Hoffman, Amarillo, Texas; Roy Cantrell, Goose Creek, S.C.; and Marci Cantrell, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister Lois Linn, Anthony.

Funeral was. on Mother’s Day, May 9, at the Anthony Christian Church.

Burial was held at the Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony.
