Sue Carlile Works, 73, Brenham, Texas, died Monday, May 10, 2010 after a 7-month battle with cancer.
Sue was born Nov. 8, 1936 to David and Ellen Dannels Works and raised in southeast Kansas. She graduated from Altoona High School and was a registered nurse and extended her career by becoming a Certified Occupational Health Nurse. Sue loved teaching others in the corporate world and took great care of her clients.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Dannels; children Rusty and Kevin Carlile; grandchildren Shawn, Taylour, Amber, Morgan and McKenzie Carlile; stepchildren John Works and Elizabeth Becker, and Rob Works; and stepgrandchildren Gregory and Robert.
Sue loved creating beautiful works of fiber art, playing the piano, laughing, being with her family, having fun with friends and caring for others in need. Sue touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Sue took great pleasure in teaching others to create works of art using “two sticks and a string.”
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday May 17 in the Earlton Cemetery in Earlton, the Rev. Shawn Streepy of Grace Episcopal Church of Chanute will officiate.
The family requests donations to the wonderful people at Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, Tx. 77833, who gave such wonderful care to Sue in her time of need.
