Mildred E. Opperman, 95, Fredonia, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Neodesha.

She was born Dec. 18, 1912, in rural Yates Center to Amil H. and Irma F. Mulsow Light. She graduated from Yates Center High School.

She married Alfred W. Buss Opperman on Jan. 17, 1932, in Yates Center. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1982.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Fredonia.

Survivors include two daughters, Maurita Spohn and Marcia Parsons, both of Fredonia; a sister, Virginia Louderbaugh, Yates Center; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Askren Cemetery northwest of Yates Center.

Contributions may be made to Fredonia Regional Hospital Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
