Maurice R. Harshaw, 92, Fredonia, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Golden Living Center.

He was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Oswego to Oliver Henry Harshaw and Ona Gail Wilkins. He graduated from Altamont High School in 1934.

He served in the Army from 1941 to 1949.

He married Dorothy Harper on July 5, 1942, in North Augusta, S.C. She preceded him in death.

He retired in 1990 from Maurice’s Appliance Repair. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Harshaw, Fredonia, and Susan Kissinger, St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Hew as preceded in death by a son, Robert; a daughter, Sally; and two brothers.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Dec. 22 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia.
