Marilyn Lee Johnson, 78, Chanute, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Marilyn was born in rural Erie on Sept. 8, 1931, the daughter of James Oswald and Hazel Blanche Wilkins Barnhardt.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson on May 31, 1947 in Oswego. They later divorced.

She was a homemaker.

Marilyn is survived by two sons, Scott Johnson, Humboldt, and David Johnson and his wife, Judy, Buffalo; and two grandsons, Ryan M. Johnson and Brett T. Johnson, both of Pittsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Eugene Johnson.

Cremation has taken place.

Graveside inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25 at the East Hill Cemetery in Erie.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Kansas Relay for Life and may be left with the funeral home.
