Maxine Della Wiltse Oakes, 64, died on Friday, June 30, 2010 at home in rural Winchester.

She was born to Leona Hansen and Edwin Dale Wiltse on Feb. 8, 1946 in rural Wilson County. She attended school at Mound Springs, Vilas, Midway and was a graduate of Pittsburg State University School of Cosmetology.

She married Don Baker on Sept. 28, 1967. They have two sons, Brett Alan and Brian Paul. She later married Jeff Oakes in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale, and one infant son Brian and one brother Carl Frances.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff, of the home; her son Brett and daughter-in-law Stacey; and two grandchildren, Kolby and Keaton Baker and soon to be new baby; four brothers and three sisters, Morris, Paul, Ed, and Glen, Midge Barley, Mary Gilpin and Jean Shepard, and several nieces and nephews.

She loved to travel and was a longtime employee of American Airlines. She loved animals, music, church and family, especially her son and grandsons. Her bright smile and generous spirit will be missed by all.

Rosary will be 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
