Elizabeth “Betty” Joan Johnson, 88, Humboldt, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
Betty was born in Humboldt on March 9, 1922, the daughter of Frank W. and Fannie Cramer Sinclair. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1939 and Chanute Junior College in 1943.
She was united in marriage to Herbert Kenneth Johnson on July 31, 1943 in Long Beach, Calif. He survives, of the home.
Betty was a homemaker and also worked as an executive secretary for the Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center for twenty years.
Along with her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by a daughter, Marlene Weilert and her husband, Stephen, Humboldt; two sons, Kenneth A. Johnson and his wife, Nancy, Bella Vista, Ark., and Jeffrey Lynn Johnson and his wife, Sybil, Bailey, Colo; grandchildren Jan Roe, Scott Johnson, Jennifer Stoneking, Jeremy Weilert, Brent Weilert, Justin Sinclair Johnson, and Heather Lynn Johnson; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Gabby, Amis, Baxter, Gibson, Madalyn, Ethan, Avery, Ella, Molly, Nicholas, Max and Piper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and a sister.
Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 5 at the Methodist Church in Humboldt. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to Humboldt Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
