Dorothy L. Fronk, 84, Chanute, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2008, at the Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute.

Dorothy was born in Altoona on May 11, 1924, the daughter of Henry Harrison and Nellie May Cranor Hixon.

Dorothy was united in marriage to George Elwood Girard. He preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Walter Fronk. He also preceded her in death.

Dorothy worked at an Awning and Upholstery Shop and an Antique Shop in Altoona until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Anderson and Joyce Fox, both of Chanute; a son, Stephen Girard, also of Chanute; 23 grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Jakeway of Thayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands George Girard and Walter Fronk; a son, Ronald Girard; and two brothers, Richard Hixon and Gerald Hixon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008, at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Altoona Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, 2008 for a celebration of her life from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Memorials in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and may be left with the funeral home.
