Esther Emogene McAdam, 89, longtime Fredonia resident, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the Meridian Nursing Home, Wichita.

She was born Sept. 1, 1919, in Mound Valley to Ova A. and Grace Robbins Pefley. She graduated from Fredonia High School.

On July 21, 1938, in Fredonia she married Earl McAdam. He died on Dec. 2, 1989.

She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Earlene Patterson, Wichita, and Sheryl Blevins, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
