Lloyd E. Horton, 86, St. Paul, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

He was born Jan. 5, 1924, in St. Paul, to Julius A. and Della F. Spoonemore Horton. He was a 1942 graduate of St. Paul High School.

On May 26, 1943, he entered the United States Navy where he served his country during World War II. Following his honorable discharge on April 18, 1946, he returned to St. Paul before moving to Casper, Wyo., where he was employed by Freight Ways as a dockworker and truck driver, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.

He and Bonnie Creech were in married in 1946 at St. Paul. They later divorced. On Sept. 29, 1956, he and Virginia A. Blanding were married in Casper, Wyo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Walsh, Muskogee, Okla.; four sons, David W. Horton, Mills, Wyo., Lawrence E. “Eugene” Horton, Wichita, Lloyd Ray Horton, Sumter, S.C., Randall L. “Randy” Horton, Jackson, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; twin rother, Floyd R. Horton, Parsons.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery near St. Paul. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
