Mathew T. “Ross” Burchett, 31, died early Sunday July 18, 2010, due to longstanding complications from diabetes.
He was born on Oct, 22, 1978, in Chanute, to Glenda Shultz. He raised by his mother and stepfather, Raymond T. Swafford, spending most of his life between Chanute, Coffeyville and Parsons.
Survivors include his mother, Glenda Shultz and companion, John Symons, Parsons; his father, Jeffrey Burchett Dewitt, Neb.; his fiancé, Angela Gamblian, Parsons; three brothers, Glenn Ross, Parsons, Jeremy Swafford, Parsons, Danny Wise, Pittsburg; two stepbrothers, Chris Burris, Parsons, Brandon Swafford, Parsons; two half-sisters, Dorothy Burchett, Lincoln, Neb., Katrina Burchett, Dewitt, Neb.; two stepsisters, Crystal Burris, Parsons, Sheri Clift, Independence.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ray Swafford, Dec. 10, 2004.
Funeral will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
