William “Bill” Harrell Elmore, 68, Fredonia, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. He was born on August 11, 1941 in Gordo, Ala., the son of Thermon Okley and Mary Olivia McDaniel Elmore.

On August 27, 1962 Bill was united in marriage to Janice Jean Jordan in Jackson Hole, Wyo. He served four years in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. Bill was a member of the Buxton Christian Church. Bill devoted 30-plus years of service to the United States Postal Service and retired Post Master of the Buffalo office.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janice, Fredonia; his daughter Mary Janean Elmore, Fredonia; his son Grant Okley Elmore, Fredonia; two sisters, Shirla Jean Dyer and Mary Katherine Tilley, all of Gordo, Ala.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial funeral service will be 11 a.m. today, at Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
