Kenneth E. Jarred, 73, Derby, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Haysville Nursing Home, Haysville. He was born Feb. 26, 1937 in Altoona. Kenneth served as a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard for 12 years. Later in life Kenneth worked at Boeing as a fork lift operator.

In September of 1956, in Neodesha, he married Phyllis Bretches.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Phyllis, of the home, include three children, Jeffrey Jarred, Latham, Keni Decker, Lansing, Lloyd Jarred, Wichita; two sisters, Mary Rettman, Altoona, Margie Brown, Cherryvale; nine grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 30 at Altoona Cemetery. Visitation at Timmons Funeral Home will be Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6 to 7 p.m. Memorials have been established with The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association and contributions can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
