Twyla D. Howell Dragoo, 81, Chanute, died Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Twyla was born in Galesburg on May 27, 1929, the daughter of Carl Leslie and Mary Louesa Coder Howell. She attended schools in Chanute.

She was united in marriage to Dallas D. Dragoo on May 7, 1999 at Laverns Wedding Chapel in Miami, Okla.

She was a homemaker.

Twyla is survived by her husband, Dallas, Chanute; two sons, Greg Sabine and his wife, Rita, Rogers, Ark., and Bill Heller III of South Carolina; two daughters, Kelly Moran and her husband, James, Chanute, and Kathy Ellison and her husband, Don, Bolivia, N.C.; four stepchildren, George Dragoo and his wife, Sheryl, Wichita, Tammy Taylor and her husband, Terry, Chanute, Emma Aboud, Biloxi, Miss., and Robbie Humphrey and her husband, Corey, South Haven; five grandsons, Jesse Cashman, Chanute, Jason and Stephen Sabine, Rogers, Ark., Travis Clancy, San Diego, Calif., and Sean Nichols, San Diego, Calif.; three granddaughters, Brittany Humphrey, Longview, Texas, Jessica Clancy, San Diego, Calif., and Jenny Clancy, San Francisco, Calif.; three great-grandsons, Tristen Paul Clancy, San Diego, Calif., and Todd and Seth Sabine, Rogers, Ark.; and a twin sister, Ila Jean Jerome, Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy McCune and Helen Patton.

Cremation has taken place.

A graveside inurnment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at the Earlton Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left with Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, in charge of arrangements.
