Jenive June Ham Peterson, 91, Humboldt, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

June was born on June 12, 1919 in Kennewick, Wash., the daughter of David Vanburen and Alta Mae Keller Ham. She grew up in Bourbon and Crawford counties.

She was united in marriage to Jack I.M. Peterson on Dec. 24, 1936 in Lamar, Barton County, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1995.

She was a homemaker and sold Avon products for 30 years.

June is survived by sons Leland Merle Peterson and Richard J. Peterson; daughter Judith Peterson; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren and a brother.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son Norlan Dale; three sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6 at the Humboldt United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Humboldt United Methodist Church or Golden Rod Chapter #163, O.E.S. and may be left with the funeral home.
